TURKEY
TEMPTATIONS
Thanksgiving is
upon us, but if slaving over a hot stove and dining with a
bunch of irritable relatives isn’t your cup of gravy, why
not dine out this year at one of the city’s finer
establishments? For those that want to save themselves the
holiday headaches, here’s a list of restaurants offering
special Turkey Day menus.
- HENRIETTA’S TABLE
1 Bennett St., Cambridge, 617-661-5005. This
traditional New England favorite at the Charles Hotel in
Harvard Square features a T-day buffet feast, complete
with turkey, stuffing, yams and pumpkin pie for $50 a
person.
- OAK ROOM
Fairmont Copley Plaza, 138 St. James Ave.,
617-267-3500. For a more sumptuous, less traditional
option, try the Oak Room’s four-course, prix fixe ($83)
dinner, which offers everything from free-range Vermont
turkey or American Kobe ham to roasted butternut squash
and Maine crab bisque.
- EXCELSIOR
272 Boylston St., 617-426-7878. Four courses not
enough? Lydia Shire’s trendy hotspot boasts a six-course
meal (starting at $75) that includes free-range roast
turkey and fancy fixings like bisque of blue Hubbard
squash and pumpkin panna cotta for dessert.
- JULIEN
Langham Hotel, 272 Boylston St., 617-426-7878. The
French may not celebrate Thanksgiving, but that won’t stop
this Gallic staple from serving a four-course, prix fixe
($79) meal from 2:30–8 p.m., featuring live piano
entertainment to add a little flair to the festivities.
- 209 BOSTON
209 Columbus Ave., 617-536-0972. Don’t want to break
the bank this holiday? Try this South End hangout’s buffet
for $23 a person from noon–6 p.m. and load up on carved
turkey with giblet gravy, stuffing, honey baked ham,
homemade cranberry sauce and candied sweet potatoes.
