CREATIVE COCKTAILS
Pop culture is full of icons with a signature cocktail. Jimmy Buffet loves his margaritas; James Bond adores a dry martini (shaken, not stirred of course); and Snoop Dogg prefers to sip his gin and juice. Despite their lack of celebrity, local bartenders have created some luscious concoctions we think you’ll want to raise a glass to.

  1. COTTONWOOD RESTAURANT AND CAFE,
222 Berkeley St., 617-247-2225. By the pitcher or the glass, margaritas are the order of the day at this contemporary southwestern eatery. We suggest the decadent Patron Silver infusion—an alternative to the traditional tequila drink made with watermelon, mango, pineapple and ginger.

  2. OAK BAR,
Fairmont Copley Plaza, 138 St. James Ave., 617-267-5300. This bar is legendary for its ambiance and its martinis. Cozy up in the classy, wood-paneled room and order the Charles River, a take-off of the
traditional martini served dirty (naturally) with chopped olive, onion and lemon zest.

  3. NOIR,
One Bennett St., Cambridge, 617-661-8010. Since Noir likes to fancy itself after the sultry, decadent atmosphere of the 1940s, we suggest ordering the Femme Fatale made from Chopin vodka, blue curacao and parfait amour.

  4. SILVERTONE BAR & GRILLE,
69 Bromfield St., 617-338-7887. This after-work hotspot nestled in the Ladder District is popular for its drinks prepared from its luscious, raspberry flavored vodka made in-house from fresh berries and Sris vodka.

  5. BOMBOA,
35 Stanhope St., 617-236-6365. This Brazilian-flavored nightspot serves up four variations of the caipirinha—a traditional Brazilian drink made with cachaca (a sugar cane liqueur) and muddled lime—including the blackberry-infused mora caipirinha.
